Boozefighters M.C. Chapter 68 Team Logan Poker Run

Sometimes people do something so amazing and unexpected that it brings tears to your eyes and love to your heart. That’s what the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club Chapter 68 did for Team Logan Bake Sale.

On Saturday, October 5th over 100 bikers from the Boozefighters Club gathered for a poker run starting at Lucille’s Silver Spur Saloon in Edgewater. They traveled to Foxheads, Cabbage Patch, Hidden Treasure, Trader’s and Om Bar then back to Lucille’s for an amazing party.

The Boozefighters obtained an abundance of raffle prize donations that covered an entire pool table and two 6-foot tables. The Club put together many gift baskets which were auctioned off by a member who is a professional auctioneer. He really got the crowd going and took a $5 bid to $125 in less than 60 seconds. It was a blast watching the live auction and seeing how competitive people were getting.

Guests were treated to homemade food including some of the best pulled pork BBQ I’ve ever eaten, along with macaroni salad, baked beans, potato salad, chips and dips, and of course, cookies! We also enjoyed nice cold beverages from Lucille’s. The staff was amazing and so attentive. I don’t know how they kept up with all the people, but they did and they always had a smile on their face.

Live music was provided by Swamp Juice, a Southern Rock band, who belted out the classics and got people on their feet.

We won’t know the exact amount raised until the Boozefighters present us with a check at the bake sale, but we were told they had raised nearly $2,000. It’s going to be a grand event, with many of the bikers riding down Canal Street, carrying one of those gigantic cardboard checks. They will be there around 2pm, so you should come out and meet them!

I would like to personally thank Radar, Dell, Big Jim, Diesel, the Boozettes, and everyone else who helped make this event a huge success. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart.
